American 1 and Orthopaedic Rehab Specialists to Host Finance and Fitness Event

Jackson, MI – American 1 Credit Union and Orthopaedic Rehab Specialists (ORS) are teaming up to showcase the parallels between financial fitness and physical fitness on Monday, November 16, 2020, at 7pm. The free event will be hosted virtually in an online webinar for one hour.

"Orthopaedic Rehab Specialists, Jackson's community partner in health and wellness, is launching a new initiative in 2021 addressing the Four Pillars of Health and Wellness – physical activity, diet and nutrition, sleep, and mental health. In this webinar with American 1 Credit Union, we will be discussing how your financial fitness can deeply affect the four pillars and how to manage the stressors," said Mark Stiles, Marketing Director for Orthopaedic Rehab Specialists.

Two experts from each organization will present practical tips on physical and financial wellness while referencing four pillars of health and wellness. From Orthopaedic Rehab Specialists, David Arend, PT, DPT and Bethany Cuatt, LPTA, AT, ATC will present practical tips on physical fitness. And from American 1 Credit Union, Janelle Merritt, VP of Community Partnerships and Janis McCleery, Community Partnerships Specialist, both of which are Certified Credit Union Financial Counselors, will present practical tips on financial fitness.

“The idea of financial fitness and physical fitness discussed as a singular topic is not common practice, but research indicates a strong relationship between the two. With this partnership, we’re striving for a holistic approach to financial wellness in the communities we serve, and hosting a free virtual webinar is a proactive way to get this important information in front of the community during the pandemic,” said Janelle Merritt, VP of Community Partnerships at American 1 Credit Union.
