SDCCU Holding Free Webinars for National Fraud Awareness Week

SAN DIEGO, Calif., (November 12, 2020) –  San Diego County Credit Union® (SDCCU®), one of California’s largest locally-owned financial institutions, is providing free community resources for National Fraud Awareness Week, November 15 – 21. Understanding how to protect your finances against fraud is especially important this year as we are navigating the impact of the global pandemic, which has brought an elevated number of fraudsters out of the woodwork to take advantage of vulnerable victims. SDCCU is here to help the community not fall victim to fraud by offering blog articles and three complimentary webinars to help protect against fraud on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 as part of our Financial Wellness Wednesdays.

The three webinar topics include: Safeguarding Kids Identity Online at 9:00 a.m., a session on how to teach kids to use the internet safely and how to avoid online hazards; Current Scams and How to Protect Your Finances at 12:00 p.m., covering common fraud and scams currently being used amid the COVID-19 pandemic; and Elder Fraud Prevention at 4:00 p.m., covering common fraud and scams being used to target the elderly, tips for staying safe and resources and tools available to prevent elder financial abuse. For more details and to register for one of the events, visit sdccu.com/fraudawareness.

These webinars are part of Financial Wellness Wednesdays, an ongoing program hosted by SDCCU to help provide the community access to free financial wellness information. For a complete list of upcoming Financial Wellness Wednesdays presentations, visit sdccu.com/fww.
