Security Service FCU Makes $5,000 Donation to United Way for Pandemic Relief

(SAN ANTONIO, TX – JANUARY 12, 2021) –– The Security Service Charitable Foundation is providing Pikes Peak United Way with a $5,000 donation to help provide food, shelter, and housing to those in need during COVID-19.

“At Pikes Peak United Way, we believe there is more that connects us than divides us,” said Courtney Hadl, manager of resource development for Pikes Peak United Way. “The Security Service Charitable Foundation’s generous donation is helping us to ‘Live United,’ showing that we are stronger together than we ever could be apart.”

Last year, over 87,000 people were helped by Pikes Peak United Way’s efforts. This includes providing safe housing and essential needs for 23,985 people; preparing 9,472 children for success in kindergarten, and helping 6,658 youth receive support to earn a life-sustaining wage in the future. Amidst the pandemic, requests for assistance from Pikes Peak United Way have increased exponentially.

“We knew the timeliness of our donation would be a top priority during Covid-19 as people’s life circumstances have been changing so rapidly,” said Derrick Aguilar, senior vice president of member service—Mountain Region for Security Service Federal Credit Union. “Donating to Pikes Peak United Way provided us with the opportunity to quickly disperse donations across numerous organizations in need.”

The Security Service Charitable Foundation helps further Security Service Federal Credit Union’s corporate goal of community service by contributing to deserving organizations and causes in the credit union's market areas.
