Michigan Credit Unions Provide 40,000 Meals for Feeding America West Michigan

COMSTOCK PARK, Mich.  (2/12/21) The Moon Chapter of Credit Unions presented a check in the amount of $10,811.32 to Feeding America West Michigan as the result of a fundraising campaign to reduce the region’s food insecurity, ‘Credit Unions Feed West Michigan’.  The campaign’s goal was to raise $10,000 for families in need, starting with a $2,500 donation from both the Moon Chapter and the Michigan Credit Union Foundation. The campaign quickly exceeded its goal, reaching $10,811 with the help of 10 participating credit unions.

“Your donations will provide 40,000 meals for our neighbors in need,” said Susie Dutcher, Development Manager for Feeding America West Michigan.  “It is so nice to be able to spread some positivity during these times and see the ripples in our community,” Dutcher continued.

Michigan's credit unions are built for people. People who go to work every day, who take care of one another, who are doing their best to build a better life.  While we offer the banking services you expect, what's different is how we measure the bottom line.  Find a credit union near you at www.culinkmichigan.com.

The Moon Chapter of Credit Unions is comprised of fifteen Credit Unions that are headquartered in the counties of Muskegon, Ottawa, Oceana or Newaygo Counties.  Together, these credit unions represent more than 112,000 members and $1.1 billion in assets.
