Cornerstone CU Awarding $5,000 in Scholarships

FREEPORT, IL – Cornerstone Credit Union is now accepting applications for their 2021 Founders’ Scholarship Program. Cornerstone will be awarding four (4) $1250 one-time scholarships, for a total of $5,000, to deserving high school seniors. The deadline for submission is March 31, 2021.

Since the program’s inception in 1998, Cornerstone has awarded thousands of dollars in scholarships to youth in the areas they serve. The Founders’ Scholarship Program awards students who have exemplified leadership and dedication throughout their high school scholastic career and who plan to attend an accredited college, university, community college, or technical/trade school. “Education is a key element of the credit union’s mission and is vital to the success of our community and economy,” said Gail Clore, President of Cornerstone Credit Union.

Visit cornerstonecu.org for an application and full details. Applicants must be a current Cornerstone Credit Union member (as of 2/28/21). Membership is open to people who live or work in Boone, Bureau, Carroll, Jo Daviess, Lee, Ogle, Stephenson, Whiteside or Winnebago Counties in Illinois, or Green and Rock Counties in Wisconsin.
