Indiana Members CU Announces Cancer Awareness Card Beneficiary

(Indianapolis, IN, April 8, 2021)  Indiana Members Credit Union (IMCU), Central Indiana’s largest credit union, is pleased to announce The Tatum Parker Project as the new member-nominated beneficiary for its Cancer Awareness Debit Card.  The IMCU Cancer Awareness Debit Card provides members an opportunity to support a different cancer-related organization each year. A portion of each signature transaction made with this card March 1, 2021 through February 28, 2022, up to $10,000, will be donated to The Tatum Parker Project.

The card is available for issue to members at IMCU’s 30 Indiana locations.  The IMCU Cancer Awareness Debit Card is an option to members with a free checking account and can be issued immediately via IMCU’s instant issue program, which allows members to receive their debit card on the spot.

Tatum Parker bravely beat pediatric cancer — twice.  Now, she continues the fight by supporting other pediatric cancer patients, fundraising, and spreading awareness, all through the Tatum Parker Project.  Since inception in 2008 The Tatum Parker Project has delivered more than 4,000 Bags of Fun to Indiana pediatric cancer patients and donated in excess of $100,000 towards pediatric cancer research.  “We are beyond excited to partner with IMCU as the beneficiary of their Cancer Awareness Debit Card,” said Jayson Parker, executive director, The Tatum Parker Project.  “The funds generated through this program will enable us to continue providing smiles, laughter and hope to Indiana’s bravest children as they fight cancer. We’re grateful IMCU has chosen to support local nonprofits with this program, it will have an enormous impact on our organization.”

“IMCU is delighted to partner with The Tatum Parker Project and their important mission of providing support through fundraising and awareness initiatives to pediatric cancer patients in Indiana as they courageously fight cancer,” said Ron Collier, president and CEO of IMCU.

About Indiana Members Credit Union

Indiana Members Credit Union, headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana, was founded in 1956 on the campus of IUPUI.  IMCU has since grown to 30 branches, serving Central and Southern Indiana, offering consumer and business members a full array of products and services.

Traditionally offering better rates on loans and deposits, IMCU maintains true to its roots by “Keeping It Simple” for members.  For more information, please visit IMCU online at www.imcu.com.

The mission of The Tatum Parker Project is to positively impact the lives of Indiana pediatric cancer patients.  The main project is to provide a Bag of Fun to every child diagnosed with cancer in Indiana.  Bags of Fun are backpacks filled with age-appropriate games, toys, and activities that give a child a better day, a smile and something to focus on other than their illness.  The bags also give parents the reassurance that someone understands.  The Bags of Fun are delivered to the children within the first few weeks of the child’s diagnosis.  The second project is to invest in pediatric cancer research.  Since inception we have donated $50,000 specifically to pediatric cancer research organizations.  Finally, we’re currently developing programs to help children and their families deal with the day-to-day aspects of their illness: financial, healthcare, psychological.  For more information, please visit https://tatumparkerproject.org
