Westerra Credit Union Supports Home Energy Improvements

Denver, CO — July 28, 2021 - Colorado, the Centennial State, celebrates its 145th birthday on Sunday, August 1st. This date, known as “Colorado Day,” is an opportunity for Coloradans to honor the state’s natural beauty, enjoy the abundance of outdoor activities and encourage sustainability practices. Westerra Credit Union, a member-owned cooperative with a deep, local heritage, is committed to contributing to these preservation efforts by supporting the implementation of energy efficiency and renewable energy improvements in homes. Westerra believes these types of home energy improvements are vital to the ongoing preservation of colorful Colorado for generations to come.

In honor of Colorado Day, Westerra is highlighting its partnership with the Colorado Energy Office’s RENU program, a statewide residential Energy Efficient loan program, which partners with local credit unions. In addition, Westerra also offers an in-house Energy Efficiency Loan option for financing home energy improvements. Each loan guarantees homeowners who choose energy upgrades access to affordable, low-cost and long-term financing.

“Both options help our environment and better the health of our state,” said Jared Dryer, Vice President of Consumer Lending at Westerra. “The RENU Loan program has truly benefited the people of Colorado and we are proud to partner with them. Our in-house option is also a wonderful alternative for those looking to fund home energy projects to enhance a home’s overall efficiency, such as solar panels or the purchase of new ENERGY STAR appliances. Whatever the project, Westerra is here to help finance them.”

About Westerra Credit Union

Westerra Credit Union is a financial cooperative locally-owned by the people who have ac- counts at the credit union. Eight Denver teachers started the credit union in the midst of the Great Depression. They pooled their funds and made loans to each other to strengthen families and the community during that crisis. Today they carry that mission forward to help families and communities through the financial hardship of the COVID-19 crisis. Denver-based Westerra Credit Union holds over $1.8 billion in assets and serves 125,000 members throughout the Denver metro area. For more information, visit www.westerracu.com.
