SDCCU Offers Free Educational Resources for National Savings Day

SAN DIEGO, Calif., (October 7, 2021) – San Diego County Credit Union® (SDCCU®), one of Southern California’s largest locally-owned financial institutions, is committed to educating the community on the importance of savings to help build a foundation for a successful financial future through its support of National Savings Day on October 12, 2021. To celebrate, on Wednesday, October 13, SDCCU will present educational webinars focused on saving at various stages of life as part of Financial Wellness Wednesdays. For additional saving tips and resources visit sdccu.com/blog.

According to Bankrate, 25 percent of Americans have no savings at all. The coronavirus pandemic has fueled this number, draining the bank accounts of many during a challenging financial year. The study also finds that more than half of Americans would be unable to cover three months’ worth of expenses with the current money they have saved in an emergency fund.

“We are pleased to celebrate National Savings Day by sharing valuable resources that focus on the importance of saving,” said Teresa Campbell, SDCCU president and CEO. “No matter your income or stage of life, creating healthy financial habits is critical for setting yourself up for future financial success.”

The webinar series focused on saving is part of Financial Wellness Wednesdays, an ongoing program hosted by SDCCU to help provide the community access to free financial wellness information. Upcoming topics, dates and times can be found at sdccu.com/fww.
