Royal CU Foundation Celebrates Giving Tuesday

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. – Royal Credit Union’s (Royal) core purpose is to create a positive impact in the lives they touch. The RCU Foundation expands this service and support to Royal’s communities and is excited to participate in GivingTuesday on Nov. 30 this year.

GivingTuesday is a global movement that encourages people to do good. Each year, on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, people around the world show their generosity and support organizations that help others. This year, Royal Members and the larger community are invited to support the RCU Foundation on GivingTuesday by donating online

The RCU Foundation awards grants to organizations in communities Royal serves across Western Wisconsin and Eastern Minnesota. To date, the Foundation has awarded more than $6 million toward capital projects for arts, education, and health.  Capital projects have a large, lasting impact and affect the greatest number of people.  Only a small number of foundations support capital projects, so the RCU Foundation is filling an important need.  The main source of funding for the RCU Foundation comes from Royal debit card transactions.  Every time Members use the Royal debit card, Royal donates up to $0.05 to the RCU Foundation. Last year, those pennies added up to over $1 million to support local communities.  Individual support is another critical part of funding for the RCU Foundation.

“The RCU Foundation’s purpose is to make a difference in the communities where our Members and team members live and work,” noted John Sackett, President of the RCU Foundation. “Grants support capital projects that benefit Members, team members and everyone in the community.”

To support the RCU Foundation and help build communities, make a donation this GivingTuesday.  When you give, 100% of your donation goes directly to support projects in Royal’s communities.
