Arbor Financial CU Awards $24,000 in Scholarships

Arbor Financial Credit Union is pleased to announce the winners of the 2022 Arbor Financial Scholarship Program. Arbor Financial awarded $24,000 to twelve high school seniors this year. Since the creation of the scholarship program in 1999, Arbor Financial has given away $528,000 to area students through the program based on the strength of their essays, as well as other factors. The 2022 scholarship essay topic was based on the quote, “The whole is greater than the sum of the parts.” – Aristotle.

A team of Arbor Financial volunteers and board members reviewed 141 entries this year, and the following 12 were selected:

• Aiden Crowley, Gull Lake High School & Kalamazoo Area Math and Science Center

• Alicia Janke, Otsego High School • Andrew Hovestad, Portage Northern High School

• Asher Puhalski, Schoolcraft High School

• Carter Mayne, Lawton High School

• Claire Pschigoda, Kalamazoo Christian High School

• Elizabeth Longcore, Portage Central High School

• Emily Dalecki, Paw Paw High School

• Grey Gardner, Kalamazoo Central High School

• Jeremiah Kagumba, Loy Norrix High School

• Kayla Miller, Vicksburg High School

• Maya Alkema, Kalamazoo Central High School

We are excited for these students and all graduating seniors.
