SAN DIEGO, Calif., (June 7, 2022) -- San Diego County Credit Union® (SDCCU®), one of Southern California’s largest locally-owned financial institutions, partnered with the San Diego Blood Bank to host a blood drive at seven SDCCU locations, six in San Diego County and one in Riverside County collecting 86 pints of much-needed blood, which will help save the lives of over 258 people.
The blood drive helped boost blood inventory during a challenging time of the year for the San Diego Blood Bank, as many of their normally scheduled drives have been paused due to businesses and community partners being unable to host because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Blood donations are especially critical at this time of year heading into summer, and the reduced number of drives has put additional strain on the already stretched on-hand supply.
