FORUM CU Celebrates Grant and Scholarship Recipients

Indianapolis, Indiana, June 14, 2022 - FORUM Credit Union recently held its eighth annual Foundation Summer Reception at the FORUM Events Center in Fishers. This reception honors the Foundation’s current educator grant and collegiate scholarship recipients. This year, the Foundation awarded fourteen educators and seven students from central Indiana.

The following educators received grants, in various amounts totaling $24,982, for their classrooms: Michelle Brinkman, Nora Elementary School; Emily Chestnut, North Wayne Elementary School; Somer Compton, Riverside Intermediate School; Clara Crosby, Arlington Elementary School; Nancy Dain-Cooper, New Britton Elementary; Bernade Flournoy, Carl Wilde Elementary School; Jennifer Frye, Greenfield Central Junior High School; Allison Martin, Clay Middle School; Beth Oburn, Brownsburg High School; Elizabeth Sei, Douglas MacArthur Elementary School; John Stevenson, Center for Inquiry School 2; Lauren Tauer, Avon High School; Lishawna Taylor, Lawrence Central High School; Annie Wing, Weston Elementary School.

The following students received $5,000 collegiate scholarships, renewable for up to four years totaling $20,000 each: Estazia Ayugi, Hamilton Southeastern High School; Nicholas Bell, Lutheran High School of Indianapolis; Emily Ellis, Columbus North High School; Sophia Mathew, Carmel High School; Ginger Miller, IUPUI: The Herron School of Art & Design; Sam Sautbine, Zionsville Community High School; Kyle Shelton, Lapel High School.

Applications for educator grants are now open for the 2022/2023 school year. Educators in Marion and surrounding counties are encouraged to apply for classroom grants before September 1, 2022, and recipients will be announced by October 1, 2022. The application for collegiate scholarships will be available on October 1, 2022, and recipients will be announced in the spring of 2023. Teachers and students can apply online.
