Greensboro, N.C. (January 18, 2023) – Vizo Financial was busy in 2022 giving back to the communities surrounding its Columbia, S.C.; Greensboro, N.C.; Pittsburgh, Pa.; and Middletown, Pa., locations and beyond.

Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals & Victory Junction

Vizo Financial has long supported both Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) Hospitals and Victory Junction, and 2022 was no exception. The Corporate showed its support for these organizations by sponsoring, hosting and/or participating in the following events:

  • CUNA Mutual Group and the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation’s Carolinas Cup for Victory Junction

Vizo Financial’s sponsorships, commitments and fundraising from staff contributed to over $40,700 raised for these two organizations in 2022.

Other Community Involvement Efforts in 2022

In addition to supporting CMN Hospitals’ and Victory Junction’s events, Vizo Financial supported its communities in other ways throughout 2022, including:

  • Purchasing daffodils for the American Cancer Society’s Daffodil Days

  • Participating in Development Educator (DE) Day of Service

  • Volunteering at Central Pennsylvania Food Bank

  • Volunteering at Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest N.C.

  • Volunteering at Financial Reality Fairs held by member credit unions of Vizo Financial

  • Supporting a multitude of credit union foundation events

During Vizo Financial’s Day of Service on October 10, 81 employees supported 16 organizations that serve the local communities of Vizo Financial staff.

Ukrainian Relief Efforts

Through Vizo Financial’s relationship with their local communities and Ukrainian Selfreliance FCU, and in response to the war in Ukraine, Vizo Financial conducted a donation drive at all four of their campuses for needed items for Ukrainians. The Corporate also supported the Ukrainian Credit Union Displacement Fund, which is managed by the Worldwide Foundation for Credit Unions. Vizo Financial raised $37,525 and matched the raised contributions with a $25,000 donation. A total of $62,525 was donated to the Fund.

“Our staff spent many hours volunteering, contributing and supporting our communities in 2022,” said Erin Doan, Vizo Financial’s diversity, equity and inclusion director. “From supporting our usual organizations like Victory Junction and CMN Hospitals to supporting more local organizations in their communities, our staff went above and beyond this year.”

Community Volunteer Leave

Vizo Financial encouraged employees to utilize their community volunteer leave (CVL) hours throughout 2022. This resulted in 63 employees volunteering for a total of 459 CVL hours throughout the year.

“It was important for us to inspire staff to utilize their CVL hours in 2022,” said David Brehmer, president/CEO of Vizo Financial. “We really wanted them to go out into their communities and volunteer at organizations that were close to their hearts. I’m proud of what we accomplished as a collective organization through 2022 in our community involvement efforts!”
