Vermont FCU Awards Scholarships to National Guard Association

South Burlington, VT – Vermont Federal Credit Union has partnered with the National Guard Association of Vermont (NGA-VT) to award $1,000 scholarships to two very deserving students. This year’s recipients were chosen out of a pool of students who themselves or a family member serve in the Vermont National Guard. The 2023 recipients of the Vermont Federal Credit Union and NGA-VT scholarships are Hannah Smith and Abigail Rice.

“At Vermont Federal Credit, supporting our community is at the heart of everything we do” said Peter Winch, Director of Marketing. “The Vermont National Guard is an incredible resource to our community and we are delighted to be able to support the continuing education of our military’s family members”.

“Our mission is to support our Soldiers and their families; thanks to the generous support of the Vermont Federal Credit Union, we are able to provide these scholarships and recognize these deserving students for their academic achievement and sacrifice as part of the Vermont National Guard family” said LTC Doran Metzger, NGA-VT President.

In addition to the two NGA-VT Vermont scholarships, Vermont Federal Credit Union also annually rewards scholarships local students and is now accepting scholarship applications until April 24th, 2023. Recipients are selected by a volunteer Scholarship Committee and are chosen based on academic achievement, leadership activities, and service to the community.
