The Westerly Community Credit Union (WCCU) held their 2022 Annual Holiday Basketball Tournament which supports local athletes, sports programs, and schools. WCCU is the sole sponsor of the tournament and donates 100% of the proceeds back to the participating schools’ sports boosters.

The tournament took place on Dec. 27th, 28th, 29th & 30th and raised a total of $8,456.80. Chariho, Stonington, South Kingstown, and Westerly High School’s Sports Boosters each received a check for $2,114.20 for their basketball teams’ hard work, determination, and participation in the tournament. Since it started in 1984, they have raised $267,034.11.

“WCCU is focused on supporting our members and local communities and we want to make a positive impact in our local schools,” stated Steve White, WCCU President & CEO. “We were very happy to be able to hold the tournament this year and raise money for our communities’ young adults.”
