Grants program supports educators

The A+ Education Foundation, the philanthropic arm of A+ Federal Credit Union (A+FCU), continues its commitment to education by awarding nearly $105,000 in grants to 77 Central Texas educators. Altogether, the A+ Education Foundation has awarded over $1.3 million in grants since the program’s inception in 2005.

"The A+ Education Foundation is proud to be able to continue to support the educators in our field of membership with funds to help them provide innovative and creative programming for students," Georgia L. Johnson, A+ Education Foundation President, said.

Since 2005, the A+ Education Foundation has awarded 1,278 educators with over $1,302,550 in grants to fund innovative, inspiring, and engaging programs for their schools.

Some examples of how grant funds will be used to enrich student learning include:

  • Purchasing forensic lab, computer science, and wind turbine kits
  • Scheduling educational field trips and cross-cultural experiences
  • Acquiring musical instruments and photography equipment
  • Providing equitable tools and vocational opportunities to students with disabilities
  • Seeking an ISTE certification and attending a dyslexia conference
