Stop by a Members First Credit Union branch on any given Friday and you will likely be greeted by representatives dressed in jeans and other casual attire. That is because Members First employees give $5 to dress down on Fridays to support local charities. The money from this "Casual Friday Fund" is deposited into a special account and donated to local nonprofit organizations throughout the year.

Members First, based in Manchester, New Hampshire, recently donated $710 from the fund to benefit a community-based, addiction service and support program, HOPE for New Hampshire Recovery.

"Supporting our community is a cornerstone of the credit union's mission," said Bruce Leighton, president and CEO at Members First. "New Hampshire continues to face a high incidence of addiction, and organizations, such as HOPE for New Hampshire Recovery, are on the front lines in our communities. We are pleased to support their mission of helping individuals and families manage this chronic disease."

In 2016, Members First Credit Union gave $4,000 to Hope for New Hampshire Recovery through a matching grant from the Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston.
