Student members at the Baltimore Leadership School for Young Women, a Baltimore City-based charter school and site of the newest Millionaire’s Club financial literacy experience, have been featured in the newly-premiered Sundance Film Festival documentary, STEP.

STEP is the true-life story of the girls’ high-school step team set against the background of the heart of Baltimore. 

These young women learn to laugh, love and thrive – on and off the stage – even when the world seems to work against them. Empowered by their teachers, teammates, counselors, coaches and families, they chase their ultimate dreams: to win a step championship and to be accepted into college.

In addition to the school’s award-winning STEP team, the BLSFYW will be launching a MECU-sponsored Millionaire’s Club this fall when the regular school year begins.

The Millionaire's Club financial education experience is a complete personal finance program available to schools and sponsoring credit unions nationwide without cost.  

Millionaire’s Clubs are designed to help credit unions partner with local high schools.  Millionaire’s Clubs have been growing at an increasing rate and are now active in forty schools.  As of this writing over 2,000 students benefit annually from their participation.

School Clubs are provided seed grants, detailed curriculum, and faculty/student materials at no charge.  Clubs are entered into local, regional, and national competitions such as The Stock Market Game™ and The Personal Finance Challenge™.  Additional support materials add a fun, competitive edge to the Club's activities.

Millionaire's Clubs have produced State and National personal finance champions as well as first-place Stock Market Game™ competitors.
