Hanscom FCU Charitable Foundation Sponsors Mission Gratitude Benefit Concert

Hanscom AFB, Mass. (October 12, 2017) – The Hanscom FCU Charitable Foundation was among the major sponsors of the Home Base Mission: Gratitude concert. The event, which took place October 5 at the historic Charlestown Navy Yard, benefitted the Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital Home Base program.

The event featured a special performance by Emmy and Tony Award-winning actress and singer Kristin Chenoweth. Sal Gonzalez, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and accomplished musician, was the opening act.

The Hanscom FCU Charitable Foundation has named the Home Base Program, and Mission Gratitude, as a primary charity. “We appreciate that all proceeds from the event will go directly to Home Base,” stated Paul Marotta, Board Secretary for the Hanscom FCU Charitable Foundation and Hanscom FCU Chairman of the Board. “Our charitable foundation is also focused on sending 100% of donations to the beneficiaries, with nothing taken out for administrative expenses.”

Home Base is a National Center of Excellence, resulting from a partnership between the Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital. The private-sector clinic provides clinical care, wellness, and education services for post-9/11 veterans and their families, as well as research to better understand traumatic brain injuries and post-traumatic stress disorder. “We are both humbled and delighted to stand with Home Base for another stellar event,” said Marotta. “For the past four years, this event has brought much needed attention and funding for veterans’ health. We are proud to support the Mission Gratitude concert and other fundraising events for this organization.”
