Indiana Members CU New Debit Card to Benefit Cancer Organizations

(Indianapolis, IN, February 15, 2018)  Indiana Members Credit Union (IMCU), Central Indiana’s largest credit union, is pleased to announce Ovar’coming Together as the new beneficiary for its Cancer Awareness Debit Card.  The IMCU Cancer Awareness Debit Card provides an opportunity to support many different types of cancer by benefiting a different local cancer related organization each year.  A portion of each signature based transaction made with this card March 1, 2018 through February 28, 2019, up to $10,000, will be donated to Ovar’coming Together, Indiana’s nonprofit resource and education organization for Ovarian Cancer.  The more these cards are used, the more Ovar’coming Together will benefit.

The card is available for issue to members at IMCU’s 26 Central Indiana locations.  The IMCU Cancer Awareness Debit Card is free to members with a free checking account and can be issued immediately via IMCU’s instant issue program, which allows members to receive their debit card on the spot.

Ovar'coming Together fights ovarian cancer across Indiana.  Its mission is to create awareness about the disease, support ovarian cancer survivors and caregivers and fund much-needed research initiatives.  Ovarian cancer is the 5th leading cause of death among women and the deadliest of the gynecologic cancers.  Executive Director Robin Jackson shares, "There is no screening test for ovarian cancer at this time.  As a result, many, if not most, women are diagnosed with the disease in late stages when the chance for recovery is only about 28%.  It's so important we create an environment where more women will be diagnosed early.  Supporting the fight against ovarian cancer can save a life.  This year's partnership with IMCU can make a huge difference in terms of educating and providing support to diagnosed women.  We hope as many people as possible sign up to make a difference!"

“IMCU  is delighted to support Ovar’coming Together and their mission of providing awareness and education for the community, support for those diagnosed with ovarian cancer, as well as research initiatives for early detection through the IMCU Cancer Awareness Debit Card,” said Ron Collier, president and CEO of IMCU.
