TopLine Federal Credit Union Raises Funds for American Cancer Society

MAPLE GROVE, MINN. — May 15, 2018 — TopLine Federal Credit Union joined forces with the American Cancer Society in the fight against cancer by participating in their inaugural Together vs. Cancer campaign for the month of April. Employees and members donated in increments of $1, $3, $5 or more and received a Together vs. Cancer pinup to post in a TopLine branch showing their support. All donations help the fight against cancer, which include breakthrough cancer research, free rides to chemo, free places to stay near treatment and a live 24/7 helpline for questions and support. Additionally, at TopLine’s All Employee Event earlier this year, employees packed over 300 “Grab and Go” bags, which are snack bags with assorted items a patient can take to treatment to help them get through the day with a special treat. These bags benefited patients at The Richard M. Schulze Family American Cancer Society Hope Lodge in Minneapolis.

The Hope Lodge program provides 42 private guest rooms, free of charge, to cancer patients and their caregivers who reside at least 40 miles away, and who are undergoing active cancer treatment. Though cancer touches millions of Americans every day, the good news is that half of cancer deaths are preventable according to the American Cancer Society. The Together vs. Cancer campaign empowered millions of American to get the support they need to help prevent and fight cancer – from free rides and treatment to free lodging near hospitals and 24/7 cancer helpline – attacking cancer from every angle.

“Thank you to TopLine Federal Credit Union for their passion and commitment to the mission of the American Cancer Society,” said Nick Pilger, Director of Community Development at the American Cancer Society overseeing the Twin Cities area. “We look forward to our continued partnership to help us attack cancer from every angle.”

“We were proud to partner with the American Cancer Society for their inaugural Together vs. Cancer campaign in leading the fight against cancer and to increase prevention awareness,” said Tom Smith, TopLine Federal Credit Union President and CEO. “We are grateful to all our employees and members who contributed funds to help people get the support they need to prevent and fight this disease.”

The American Cancer Society is a global grassroots force of 1.5 million volunteers dedicated to saving lives, celebrating lives and leading the fight for a world without cancer. From breakthrough research to free lodging near treatment, a 24/7/365 live helpline, free rides to treatment, and convening powerful activists to create awareness and impact, the Society is attacking cancer from every angle.
