Cabrillo CU Raises $40,000 for Rady Children's Hospital

San Diego, California – June 13, 2018 – Cabrillo Credit Union raised an impressive $40,000 to benefit Rady Children’s Hospital San Diego, during a month-long fundraising campaign in May.

"In our 22 years of fundraising for Rady Children's Hospital, this has been one of our biggest years," said Anne McClure, Acting Chief Executive Officer. “Last year was a record year for Cabrillo, when we raised $47,000.  This year our goal was $40,000. Our member-owners and our staff ensured we met our goal!”

Each May, credit unions around the country collectively raise funds for their local Children's Miracle Network Hospitals through an initiative aptly named the Miracle Month of May. Cabrillo Credit Union was again the largest credit union fundraiser for Rady Children's Hospital, among more than a dozen credit unions in San Diego County, including many that are much larger than Cabrillo.

Cabrillo members and vendors donated thousands of dollars during the Miracle Month of May. In addition, Cabrillo employees held department sponsored events and a silent auction, helping Cabrillo reach the goal of $40,000.

Cabrillo Credit Union also received a $10,000 grant from CO-OP Financial Services through their Miracle Match program.

“We are proud to support Rady Children’s Hospital. And we are humbled by the generosity of our member-owners, vendors and staff.” said McClure. “We also appreciate the generosity of CO-OP Financial Services.”

Cabrillo Credit Union was established in 1955, to serve Border Patrol agents in San Diego. Today it serves as the primary financial institution for those employed by the U.S. Border Patrol and other federal agencies in the San Diego area. Cabrillo CU also serves Sharp HealthCare, Carlsbad City employees, and is open to anyone who lives or works in San Diego County.

With five branches in the San Diego area, plus access to 30,000 ATMs and 5,000 Shared Branches, Cabrillo Credit Union makes managing your money easy.  Their cutting-edge online & mobile platform gives Cabrillo members 24/7 access to checking balances, paying bills, depositing checks, even performing free inter-institution transactions.
