Hanscom FCU Raised Over $100,000 for Home Base Program for Veterans

Hanscom AFB, MA (September 26, 2018) – The Hanscom Federal Credit Union Charitable Foundation raised over $100,000 through its Alan M. Hart Memorial Charity Golf Classic, part of its $135,000 commitment to support Home Base. Home Base is a Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital Program dedicated to healing the invisible wounds of war for veterans, service members, and their families through world-class clinical care, wellness, education, and research. The Foundation has supported Home Base over the last four years with donations totaling over $500,000.

The event took place on September 24, 2018 at the Red Tail Golf Club in Devens, MA. The classic’s sponsors included title sponsors NES Group and Fiserv; platinum sponsor Allied Solutions; silver sponsors LSI, MacLeod General Contractors, Samuel Adams, and Kasasa; bronze sponsors Armed Forces Financial Network, ALM First, GT Reilly & Company, Smith & Wilkinson, and US Bank; and breakfast sponsor Harland Clarke. Dozens of other sponsors and donors also contributed to the event.

The golf classic was renamed in its fourth year in honor of Mr. Hart, who was a longtime director of Hanscom Federal Credit Union and the founding chairman of the Hanscom FCU Charitable Foundation, Inc. In addition to being committed to community service, he was an avid golfer.

“The health and wellbeing of our nation’s veterans, service members, and their families have always been a priority cause for our Foundation,” said Teresa Conrad, Hanscom FCU Charitable Foundation’s chairwoman. “That we can support Home Base while honoring Alan’s memory means a lot to us. I know he would be honored knowing that his name is attached to an event that raises funding for the health and well-being of veterans and service members who are dealing with post-war trauma.”
