Notre Dame, IN - December 10, 2018- Last month, Notre Dame Federal Credit Union (Notre Dame FCU) beat the USC Credit Union in the 6th annual credit union charity challenge. Each year, as the University of Notre Dame football team prepares to play the University of Southern California, their like-named credit unions also compete off the field in a goodwill charity challenge. Each credit union put $5,000 on the line. The credit union that opens the most new checking accounts donates the full $10,000 to the charity of their choice.

This year, Notre Dame FCU won that hard-fought battle and elected to donate the $10,000 winnings to The Kelly Cares Foundation. Kelly Cares Foundation focuses on a variety of initiatives, including breast cancer awareness and research. The foundation is co-founded by University of Notre Dame Head Football Coach Brian Kelly and his wife, Paqui, who is a two-time breast cancer survivor.

Today, Notre Dame FCU President/CEO Tom Gryp presented Paqui Kelly, President of Kelly Cares Foundation, with a $10,000.00 check.  Paqui Kelly said, "Brian and I are so thankful to be chosen as the benefactor for this year's Credit Union Charity Challenge. Thanks to the generosity of Notre Dame FCU  members and employees, this donation will go a long way in advancing our mission.  Notre Dame FCU continues to be an incredible partner, and we are so grateful for their continued support.”
