Libby, MT - Lincoln County CU based in Libby recently shared some love with the Kootenai Karacters, a local theater group that has been amusing Nordicfest attendees with witty melodramas since 1985. More recently, the troop has started to encourage the artistic talents of young people in their community by giving money they raise through their performances to help students in speech, drama, band, and chorale. The Karacters will be performing "The Music Man" the third weekend in March, and Lincoln County CU donated $1,000 to help build the set for the show. “The Kootenai Karacters have been providing a way for adults and kids to use their talents, and we wanted to be able to help them put on this play to raise funds for our community's students" said Lindsay Beaty, president and CEO of Lincoln County CU. Credit unions stepping up to support the arts makes me want to toot some horns or at least watch “seventy-six trombones lead the parade…”
