NuMark Credit Union Hosting Free Budgeting Seminar

February 2019 – Managing our money is a very important part of life. As children, we are taught to save. The future can’t be predicted. What if your car did not start tomorrow? What would you do? Over half of Americans would have limited options without a savings account for a rainy day.

When thinking about personal finances, the best way is to begin with the end in mind. What if you are taking a road trip across America? Would you jump in the car and drive without a plan? Running out of gas, getting lost or even a lack of lodging could be potential issues. Instead, a better approach would be to complete a plan that includes everything needed for a successful trip.

With all those factors thought out, how much smoother would the trip go? The same is true for personal finances. If an individual withdraws cash but can’t recall where the money was spent, there is no process for tracking the spending. This makes it difficult to create a detailed plan to meet short-term and long-term financial goals.

That’s why NuMark Credit Union is offering a free seminar on Thursday, April 18th called, “Build a Basic Budget: the Five-Step Spending Plan.” This seminar will take place from 6:00pm to 8:00pm the New Lenox Park District located at 701 W. Haven Ave. Find out in step-by-step detail how to create a working budget. Each participant will take away a personal action plan, plenty of ideas for how to save money, and a better understanding of how to track where your money goes.

Participants do not need to be a NuMark Credit Union Member to take advantage of this FREE Seminar. Seating is limited, so interested participants should register in advance. Call 815-729-3211 to reserve seats. Everyone is welcome to bring friends and family.
