Texas Trust Credit Union Awards $8,000 in Scholarships

ARLINGTON, Texas - Texas Trust Credit Union has awarded scholarships totaling $8,000 to two Mansfield ISD seniors. Each recipient will receive $1,000 each year for up to four years.

The Bill Hallmark Scholarship for Engineering was awarded to Andrew Tran. He plans to major in mechanical and aerospace engineering at the University of Texas at Arlington. Tran is ranked third in his class at Mansfield High School. He served as treasurer and historian for the Junior World Affairs Council and was a member of National Honor Society and Key Club. Tran also works as a tutor at Mathnasium.

Luke Lechman, who plans to major in radio, television, and film at the University of Texas at Austin, is the recipient of the Rita Hamner Fine Arts Scholarship. Lechman is ranked third in his class at Frontier High School. He served as National Honor Society historian and Student Council secretary as well as president of the music club, and was a member of the TAPPS all-state drum line team.

“Andrew and Luke are both exceptional students with promising futures,” said Debi Knoblock, assistant vice president of Business & Community Engagement for Texas Trust. “We hope these scholarships will help them achieve their goals and pursue careers that are professionally and financially rewarding.”

The Bill Hallmark and Rita Hamner scholarships are named in honor of former Texas Trust board members.
