Security Service Charitable Foundation Donates $6,000 to Family Crisis Center

OGDEN, UT – The Security Service Federal Credit Union Charitable Foundation is helping feed people in need by donating $6,000 to purchase a new freezer for Your Community Connection Family Crisis Center (YCC). Every year, the YCC serves more than 100,000 meals to people undergoing traumatic experiences.

“We have a 99% occupancy rate year-round, which tells us that the need in this community is great,” said Margaret Rose, executive director for Your Community Connection Family Crisis Center. “The Security Service Charitable Foundation donation is allowing us to replace our broken freezer, which is critical to maintaining meal services.”

The YCC believes that by investing time and resources into their community, they are investing in the future of Utah's families – but to do this requires the right equipment. This new freezer will aid their efforts for years to come.

“A freezer is a critical component when it comes to providing meals for those in need,” said Ben Wiseman, senior vice president of member service – Mountain West Region for Security Service Federal Credit Union. “Food is a necessity and we hope this donation will help YCC Family Crisis Center serve even more meals to families in need.”

The YCC has served Northern Utah communities for more than 74 years by providing services to victims of domestic violence, homelessness, rape, and sexual assault. They are the second-largest shelter in the state of Utah and the most comprehensive in services. The YCC provides a domestic violence shelter, a rape crisis center, a 24/7 crisis line, and they also offer a senior life program that helps senior citizens with home repairs and other needs.

The Security Service Charitable Foundation helps further Security Service Federal Credit Union’s corporate goal of community service by contributing to deserving organizations and causes in the credit union's market areas.
