Alaska CU League Supports Financial Education and Donates $20,000 to  Alaska Business Week

Anchorage, Alaska – The Alaska Credit Union League (ACUL) donated $20,000 to Alaska Business Week to support and promote the business education of Alaska’s future leaders and entrepreneurs. The Alaska Credit Union League has been an enthusiastic supporter of the Alaska Business Week program since its inception in 2010. To date, the ACUL has contributed $159,000 in support of the League’s mission to improve people’s financial lives through education. In addition to its support of Alaska Business Week, the ACUL is also committed to financial education for all ages. Last year, the ACUL as a whole conducted 165 financial education presentations reaching a total of 3,358 participants. These presentations involved 2,215 volunteers reaching elementary age students all the way to individuals preparing for retirement.

“For 10 years, the Alaska Credit Union League has shown incredible support for Alaska Business Week and the hard-working Alaska high school students who participate,” said Andy Rogers, executive director for Alaska Business Week. “Together we’re giving a step up to the next generation of business innovators and leaders in communities around the state.”

About Alaska Business Week

Alaska Business Week is a one-week summer program for Alaska high school students. The program teaches participants basic principles of private sector business and important leadership skills they will need for their post high school plans. Participants live on a college campus, work as teams on a dynamic business simulation, develop a new product concept, and present their results with the guidance of a mentor from the business community.
