TruStone Financial Foundation Donates $1,000 to Still Kickin Charitable Organization

PLYMOUTH, Minn.  -  In celebration of TruStone Financial Federal Credit Union’s 80th anniversary, the TruStone Financial Foundation is making a $1,000 donation to a local charity on behalf of each Minnesota and Wisconsin branch. As part of this initiative, TruStone Financial’s Lyn-Lake branch recently donated $1,000 to Still Kickin.

Still Kickin provides financial assistance to people going through difficult times. Each month, they choose a Still Kickin Hero to receive a no-strings-attached financial grant to help them get through whatever they’re struggling with. Past heroes include a young widow dealing with grief and medical bills, a nurse in need of a kidney and many more courageous people.

“We are so thankful for TruStone’s generous donation,” said Lindsay Wenner, Chief Operating Officer at Still Kickin. “Gifts like TruStone’s help ensure we can keep doing this month after month.”

Michelle Gitzen, manager of the Lyn-Lake TruStone Financial branch, said Still Kickin was an easy choice for the donation. “I’ve known the founder, Nora McInerny, for years, along with her husband, who was the reason the charity was founded. Aaron passed away in 2014, but he always had a dream of turning his thrifted Still Kickin t-shirt into something greater.”
