PORTLAND, OR –Rivermark Community Credit Union is the proud sponsor of the upcoming TEDxMtHood Salon event on Tuesday, October 15th from 6:30 PM to 9 PM at the Wayfinding Academy in North Portland.
This TEDxMtHood event is presented in partnership with TiE Young Entrepreneurs (TYE) Oregon, a program that aims to inspire, challenge, and empower high school students to become the next generation of entrepreneurs, business and community leaders. TYE was the first grant recipient of the Rivermark Community Fund in 2016, and Rivermark is excited to be partnering with their organization once again.
At the event, four young entrepreneur teams will have 10 minutes to present their group’s big idea; a solution to a local or global problem. Ideas range from cleaning up space debris to a machine learning platform that identifies abnormalities in CT scans. There will also be two other speakers giving TEDx style talks; Laura Pena, creator of the She is the Universe project that captures the stories of girls from around the world and their dreams for the future. And Craig Hill, who has dedicated his career to advancing the mission of the B Corporation model and inspiring youth who desire to have a career in business to use those careers to create positive societal change.
