South Dakota Central Chapter Cleans Up Local Ditches

Huron, SD – The South Dakota Central Chapter of Credit Unions participated in a “Ditch Walk” as part of the Adopt-A-Highway program on Tuesday, September 24th.  Volunteers gathered to walk a two-mile stretch of highway to collect garbage. Despite facing standing water in some of the ditches, and being highly outnumbered by mosquitoes, the crew finished the task! Volunteers then met up at Godfather’s Pizza for a well-deserved meal after donating their time. The three credit unions that were present for this project included Dakotaland Federal Credit Union, Huron Area Education Federal Credit Union, and M-O Federal Credit Union, all of Huron.

The Central Chapter of Credit Unions consists of Dakotaland Federal Credit Union, Dakota Rail Line Federal Credit Union, M-O Federal Credit Union, Huron Area Education Federal Credit Union, HB Telco Federal Credit Union (all of Huron), plus Oahe Federal Credit Union (Pierre), in addition to the Pierre branch of Black Hills Federal Credit Union as an associate member.
