Hanscom FCU Charitable Foundation Supports Veterans with Home Base Benefit Dinner

Hanscom AFB, MA (November 14, 2019) – The Hanscom Federal Credit Union Charitable Foundation was honored to be the presenting sponsor of Home Base’s Veterans Day Dinner. Held on November 7 at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library & Museum in Boston, the benefit dinner supports the Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital’s Home Base program.

The dinner was emceed by Air Force veteran and WCVB anchor Randy Price and featured guest speaker, Marine Corps veteran, and Grammy-nominated musician Shaggy and other honored guests such as Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker.

Paul J. Marotta, Chairman of the Foundation, expressed the Foundation’s dedication to Home Base: “We’re proud to be able to support such a worthy cause and help drive attention and funding to their mission. Supporting veterans is deeply important to us, and we keep Home Base at the top of our Foundation’s priorities.”

Earlier this fall at the Hanscom FCU Charitable Foundation’s Alan M. Hart Memorial Charity Golf Classic, the Foundation pledged to donate $750,000 to Home Base over the next five years, beginning with a contribution of $150,000 presented at the Classic.

Home Base, founded in 2009, is a partnership of the Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital. Based out of Boston, MA, Home Base is the first and largest private-sector clinic in the nation, leading regional and national efforts with a multi-disciplinary team of experts who work together to help service members, veterans, and their families heal from the invisible wounds of traumatic brain injury, post-traumatic stress, and related conditions.
