Texas Trust Credit Union Contributes $5,000 to Toys for Tots

ARLINGTON, Texas – December 5, 2019 – For the eighth consecutive year, Texas Trust Credit Union donated $5,000 and a bus full of toys to Toys for Tots.

Texas Trust’s branches served as collection points for the toy drive. Members and employees donated the toys, which Texas Trust loaded into its 1956 restored school bus and delivered Wednesday to the Toys for Tots collection center at the Mansfield ISD Performing Arts Center.

Since 2011, Texas Trust has supported Toys for Tots, giving $40,000 to date to the organization along with thousands of toys each year.

This year Texas Trust partnered with National Honor Society students from Linda Jobe Middle School in Mansfield to manage the reindeer food creation area set up at the toy collection center. Thirty students, aged 12-14, participated in the event by helping children make “magic reindeer food” to be sprinkled on their lawn to help guide Santa’s reindeer to their home on Christmas Eve.

Cash the Eagle, Texas Trust’s mascot, also participated in the annual mascot race featuring the high school mascots from each of Mansfield’s senior high schools.

Jim Minge, president and CEO of Texas Trust, along with a dozen employees, presented the toys and $5,000 check to the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve representative.

Following the presentation, Debi Knoblock, assistant vice president business and community engagement for Texas Trust said, “We are so grateful to again be able to help Toys for Tots in its mission to make sure every child in our community has a gift to open on Christmas morning.”

Texas Trust Credit Union has been helping build brighter financial futures since its modest beginning in 1936. Today, the full-service credit union serves more than 118,000 members. With assets of more than $1.3 billion, Texas Trust is the 6th largest credit union in North Texas and the 17th largest in Texas. With a focus on the community, Texas Trust is creating a legacy of giving through generous financial donations that support local school programs and activities, non-profit organizations, and student scholarships; and by providing volunteer resources through its Community Unity team, which supports scores of charitable events each year.
