PLYMOUTH, MN - January 16, 2020 - TruStone Financial Federal Credit Union, the TruStone Financial Foundation and TruStone Home Mortgage recently donated nearly 750 toys and a check for $2,133 to Toys for Tots. Donations of new, unwrapped toys were gathered at the credit union’s branches and the corporate office in Plymouth, MN.
To deepen the drive’s impact, TruStone Financial and TruStone Home Mortgage employees were encouraged to donate toys or money to the organization through their December Casual for a Cause day, a program where employees have the opportunity to wear jeans in exchange for a donation to a designated charity. Monetary donations were matched by the TruStone Financial Foundation.
Justin Hebner, a United States Marine Corps veteran and TruStone Home Mortgage employee, helped coordinate the companies’ joint donation efforts. “This is the fifth year in a row TruStone Financial has had a Toys for Tots drive, and every year we are so excited to see the number of donations increase,” he said. The credit union nearly doubled the amount of toys it donated last year. “It means so much to us that our members and employees go out of their way to make a contribution that helps make the holidays better for kids across the country.”

Toys for Tots is a program begun by the U.S. Marine Corps and now run by the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation. The purpose of Toys for Tots is to provide a tangible sign of hope to economically disadvantaged children during the holidays.
