TruStone Financial Foundation Donates $10,000 to Food Shelves in Minnesota

PLYMOUTH, Minn. (June 19, 2020) - To help support its communities during the COVID-19 pandemic, each of TruStone Financial Federal Credit Union’s ten branches in Minnesota are partnering with the TruStone Foundation to donate $1,000 to a local food shelf, for a total donation of $10,000. These donations were made as part of a larger initiative by the credit union to donate $1,000 per branch, totaling $14,000.

TruStone’s CEO, Tim Bosiacki, thanked the staff of food shelves for continuing their hard work during the pandemic. “These organizations provide critical support to the communities they serve in the form of food, clothing and other necessities,” he said in a video response to TruStone’s nomination for a kindness challenge called CUs4U. “Even now, under increased pressure, they’re still working tirelessly to make sure the needs of the community are met.”

The credit union decided to use its participation in the CUs4U challenge to support the staff of some of the food shelves it made donations to. TruStone treated the staff of Cross Services and Keystone Community Services to lunch from their favorite local restaurants.

Below are the organizations in Minnesota that TruStone Financial branches selected to receive a donation from the TruStone Financial Foundation:

  • Maple Grove and Rogers – Cross Services $2,000

  • Roseville and Highland – Keystone Community Services $2,000

  • Burnsville – 360 Communities $1,000

  • Golden Valley – PRISM $1,000

  • Lyn-Lake – Joyce Food Shelf $1,000

  • Northeast – Little Kitchen Food Shelf $1,000

  • Oakdale – Christian Cupboard Emergency Food Shelf $1,000

  • Saint Cloud – Catholic Charities Emergency Services $1,000

“These last few months have shown us how the needs in our community are accelerating for food and other supportive services. Keystone is providing support every day for our neighbors in need, and we can only do that because of the generosity of our community,” says Mary McKeown, President and CEO of Keystone Community Services. “We are so thankful for TruStone’s financial support of our food shelf program and for the delicious lunch provided for our front line staff. What a meaningful and special way to support our community!”
