MONTGOMERY, AL (September 10, 2020) - MAX Credit Union was recently recognized by Business Alabama and Best Companies Group as one of the Best Companies to Work for in Alabama for the eighth consecutive year.
Each year, companies around the state offer a glimpse into their work culture to vie for the distinction of being named a Best Company to Work for in the state. This survey and awards program was created eleven years ago to identify, recognize, and honor the best employers in Alabama. The 2020 list is made up of 18 companies from around the state.
Founded in 1955, MAX Credit Union has grown into a full-service financial institution offering a wide variety of services ranging from checking accounts to investment opportunities, insurance, and home mortgages. Following the March 3, 2019 tornado that devastated Beauregard, Alabama, a team of 10 MAX volunteers helped rebuild one of the destroyed homes. In 2019, MAX team members gave more than 4,000 hours total in service with local non-profits supporting youth leadership, food insecurity, animal welfare, and environmental protection. More recently, MAX Credit Union and the MAX4Kids Foundation donated more than $100,000 to local organizations in COVID-19 relief efforts.
Companies from across the state entered the two-part survey process in the Spring of 2020 to determine the Best Companies to Work for in Alabama. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company's workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final rankings.
