Portland, Ore., September 15, 2020 – Unitus Community Credit Union has given $50,000 to local organizations Red Cross Cascades, United Way of the Mid-Willamette Valley, and Northwest Credit Union Foundation to help with relief efforts for the wildfires ravaging Oregon and Washington.

Unitus’ donations will directly support communities affected by the wildfires, providing relief supplies, nourishing meals, shelter, and medical care. The donations will also support emergency responders’ heroic efforts with recovery services during and after the wildfires.     

In support of Unitus team members impacted by the fires, the credit union designated $10,000 of the donations to Northwest Credit Union Foundation’s disaster relief response program. The program provides small-dollar emergency grants up to $1,500 to credit union employees and board members.
