Security Service Charitable Foundation Donates $2,000 to Autism Treatment Center

(SAN ANTONIO, TX – OCTOBER 14, 2020) –– The Security Service Charitable Foundation is helping the Autism Treatment Center welcome students back to campus through a $2,000 donation to enhance social distancing measures. The donation will provide mobile partitions in classrooms as well as glider swings and basketballs for enhanced outdoor play. Also included in the donation is funding for a new laminator, helping the center to reuse classroom tools and preserve printed materials.

“The Security Service Charitable Foundation donation for outdoor and classroom equipment is especially important as we work to safely welcome back students during the Covid-19 pandemic,” said Cynthia Hamilton, development director for Autism Treatment Center. “These students have an increased need for continued therapies and instruction to maintain their progress and quality of life as valuable members of the community.”

Since 1976, the Autism Treatment Center has assisted people with autism and related disorders throughout their lives as they learn, play, work, and live in the community. In past years, they have served nearly 400 children and adults annually with direct care programs and assisted more than 1,000 families with information and referrals for community services.

“Ensuring the Autism Treatment Center has everything they need to safely offer direct care programs during Covid-19 is of critical importance,” said Brandy Ralston-Lint, senior vice president of corporate communications for Security Service Federal Credit Union. “Their programs are a lifelong resource for individuals with autism and their families. Without their assistance, many members of our community would be left without support.”

The Security Service Charitable Foundation helps further Security Service Federal Credit Union’s corporate goal of community service by contributing to deserving organizations and causes in the credit union's market areas.
