This year’s event marked the 50th anniversary of the Hmong community’s migration to the U.S., highlighting their courage during the Vietnam War and their enduring contributions to American society. Attendees experienced cultural performances, traditional food vendors, educational exhibits, and heartfelt tributes to the Special Guerrilla Unit Veterans and the Lao Veterans of America Institute.
“Hmong American Day is not just a celebration of our past, but a promise to future generations that our stories, our struggles, and our contributions will never be forgotten,” said Pao Yang, president and CEO of The Fresno Center. “We are grateful for the support of our community partners, like EECU, in helping us honor 50 years of resilience and achievement.”
The Fresno Center honored EECU with a commemorative plaque and traditional Hmong xauv, an ornate silver necklace that holds deep cultural, symbolic, and spiritual significance. EECU was honored to be part of this meaningful celebration that uplifts the Hmong community’s history, values, and future.
As part of the celebration, EECU also brought its mobile branch on-site to provide convenient access to financial information and services.
