Fresno, CA – June 9, 2025 – Educational Employees Credit Union (EECU) proudly sponsored the 2025 Latinx High School Celebración, an inspiring event recognizing the achievements of graduating Latinx students from the Fresno Unified School District.

Hosted by the school district in partnership with the Education
and Leadership Foundation and Youth Leadership Institute, the Latinx celebration
brought together hundreds of students, families, and community members in a
vibrant, culturally rich ceremony on June 8 at the Save Mart Center in Fresno.
“We’re proud to
support this celebration that uplifts students and families in such a
meaningful way,” said Elizabeth J. Dooley, EECU president and CEO. “This event
reflects our deep commitment to education and the diverse communities that we
serve.”
The lively, bilingual
celebration of culture and achievement featured traditional mariachi music, as
well as folklórico and Aztec dance performances. Graduates were given colorful stoles and Univision Fresno TV
Host Lupita Lomelí gave an inspirational keynote speech in Spanish.
This is the third
year the district has hosted the Latinx celebration after students advocated
the need for a Spanish-language graduation ceremony that celebrated their
culture and ethnic background.
EECU is proud to support this community-centered event that
reflects the rich cultural fabric of the Central Valley.
