FORUM Credit Union recently held its eleventh annual Foundation Summer Reception at the FORUM Events Center in Fishers, Indiana.

FORUM Credit Union recently held its eleventh annual Foundation Summer Reception at the FORUM Events Center in Fishers, Indiana. This reception honors the Foundation’s educator grant and collegiate scholarship recipients. FORUM has awarded more than $277,000 in classroom grants and $1,300,000 in scholarships since 2014. This year, the Foundation awarded thirteen educators, seven new scholarship students, and 19 prior year recipients who are renewing their scholarships.
The following educators received grants, in various amounts totaling $26,675, for their classrooms: Lade Akande, University High School of Indiana; Ruth Bowen, Northeast Elementary School; LaMonica Henson, Indian Creek Elementary School; Jennifer Leavell, Fortville Elementary School; Kevin Morse, Westfield High School; Brent Oliver, Greenfield-Central High School; Sherry Pryor, Ray Crowe Elementary School; Lauren Royalty, South Grove Elementary School; Vivian Szymkow, Avon Middle School North; Sarah Tappendorf, Southeastern Elementary School; Lauryn Tooley, Stonegate Elementary School; Melissa Warner, Center Grove High School; Beverly White, Impact Academy III.
The following students received $5,000 collegiate scholarships, renewable for up to four years totaling $20,000 each: Zachary Germann, Fishers High School; Savannah Hwang, Avon High School; David Jiang, Carmel High School; Paxton Klitzsch, Herron High School; William Pletcher, Marian University; Dontae Thompson, New Palestine High School.
This year FORUM also introduced the Jenny Budreau Commitment to Community Scholarship. One exceptional FORUM Foundation Scholarship recipient who closely exemplifies the qualities of academic excellence and a strong commitment to community service will receive an additional $2,500 per year, for a potential total of up to $30,000 over the course of four years. The honored recipient was Sapna Srinivasan from Zionsville Community High School.
Applications for educator grants are now open for the 2025/2026 school year. Educators in Marion and surrounding counties are encouraged to apply for classroom grants before September 1, 2025, and recipients will be announced by October 1, 2025. The application for collegiate scholarships will be available on October 1, 2025, and recipients will be announced in the spring of 2026. Teachers and students can apply online.
