In celebration of CU Kind Day—a day when credit unions give back to their communities—DuPage Credit Union team members donated 446 books to SCARCE (School & Community Assistance for Recycling and Composting Education), a local nonprofit dedicated to environmental education and sustainability.

The books will be resold at SCARCE’s Reuse Center at 800 S. Rohlwing Road (Route 53) in Addison. This center provides low-cost educational materials to schools and non-profits while diverting resources from landfills.
“I’m very proud of our team’s efforts,” said Kim Alongi, Digital Experience Systems Manager. “Giving back to teachers and students allows us to live our credit union values and build an even stronger partnership with SCARCE.”
DuPage Credit Union is a not-for-profit financial institution owned by its over 45,000 members and offers a full suite of banking solutions – including vehicle loans, personal loans, credit cards and mortgage loans to anyone who lives or works in DeKalb, DuPage, Kane, Kendall, Lake, McHenry, and Will counties; or attends school in DuPage County.
