FRESNO, Calif. (Oct. 21, 2025) – Educational Employees Credit Union (EECU) partnered with the San Luis Obispo (SLO) County Office of Education to celebrate the 2025 SLO County School Employees of the Year during a dinner and award ceremony on October 20.

Since 2022, EECU has proudly sponsored this annual event, which honors top teachers and school employees from districts and schools throughout San Luis Obispo County. This year’s celebration recognized 26 exceptional educators, highlighting one County Classified Employee of the Year and a County Teacher of the Year.
The 2025 SLO County Classified Employee of the Year is Cynthia Padgett of Lucia Mar Unified School District, and the 2025 SLO County Teacher of the Year is Krys Chivens of Templeton Unified School District.
EECU Business Development Officer Joe Doyland and EECU Paso Robles Branch Manager Carrie Danielson joined SLO County Superintendent of Schools Dr. James J. Brescia to honor the outstanding educators at Cuesta College.
“These awards shine a spotlight on the amazing educators and staff who go above and beyond to make a lasting impact on students’ lives,” Doyland said. “EECU is honored to partner with the SLO County Office of Education to celebrate their dedication and recognize the difference they make across the county.” 
The SLO County School Employees of the Year awards ceremony is one of six annual countywide events EECU sponsors each year to recognize and support exemplary educators and school staff throughout Central California and the Central Coast.
