FRESNO, Calif. (Nov. 7, 2025) – Educational Employees Credit Union (EECU) was proud to partner with Disney, ABC30, and First Book to bring the Magic of Storytelling to children at Addams Elementary School in Fresno on November 6.
As a sponsor of the program, EECU helped ensure each child at
the school was able to select a brand-new book to take home from a variety of
books.
EECU President and CEO Elizabeth J. Dooley joined Addams
Elementary School Principal Natanska Valtierra and Library Media Technician
Jessica Medrano in welcoming students into the library for story time and to
pick out a book to take home.
“We’re so proud to give back to the community in this way,”
Dooley said. “Not only does this put a smile on these children’s faces, but it
helps foster a lifelong love of reading and learning that will benefit the
whole community for years to come.”
The mission of the “Magic of Storytelling” program is to
cultivate the next generation of storytellers, while encouraging children to
imagine, dream, and explore through books.
“For many of our students, taking home a brand-new book is a
very special experience,” Medrano said. “It sparks their imagination and
reminds them that reading can open doors to endless possibilities.”
By partnering with national organizations like Disney and
First Book, EECU continues its commitment to education and the local community
by providing resources that help children succeed both inside and outside the
classroom. To learn more, visit myEECU.org.
