DuPage
Credit Union has donated a total of $17,500 to two local food banks: $15,000 to Northern
Illinois Food Bank in Geneva and $2,500 to Loaves & Fishes in Naperville.
“With
the recent SNAP cuts, we’re seeing a significant increase in neighbors and
expecting an additional 100,000–115,000 visits in November alone,” said
Christine Fisher, Brand and Cause Marketing Manager at Northern Illinois Food
Bank.
“DuPage
Credit Union’s generous donation will help us secure even more food for our
neighbors in need. Because every $1 donated provides $8 worth of groceries,
your gift will supply an incredible $120,000 worth of nutritious food to
families across Northern Illinois.”
As
demand for food assistance climbs and local pantries work to keep up with need,
DuPage Credit Union emphasized the importance of supporting these
organizations.
“We’re
grateful to support local food banks as they work tirelessly to meet the rising
demand in our community,” said Amy Brandt, DuPage Credit Union’s Chief
Experience Officer.
