DuPage Credit Union recently donated $75,000 to support the DuPage Regional Office of Education (ROE)’s participation in the Parents as Teachers program. As
an affiliate of Parents as Teachers, the DuPage ROE offers a free,
evidence-based home-visiting program for families in DuPage County with
children from prenatal through age 3. Through regular visits with trained
parent educators, the program supports early childhood development, increases
children’s school readiness, provides developmental screenings and connections
to community resources, and helps parents strengthen positive interactions with
their children.
“The
gift cards provided help high-risk, low-income families meet their immediate
needs and ease some of the financial stress they face,” said Rhonda Eubanks,
Director of Parents as Teachers at DuPage ROE.
“We
hope the gift cards can alleviate some of the financial burden these families
are carrying,” added Amy Brandt, DuPage Credit Union’s Chief Experience
Officer.
Since
2014, the Credit Union has partnered with the DuPage ROE on several fundraising
efforts, including our annual We’ve Got Your Back backpack fundraiser, which
has raised over $125,000 to purchase school supplies for local students in
need.
