The event will feature approximately two dozen local students in first through eighth grade who have earned the right to represent their school and district. All contestants will receive an event T-shirt designed and donated by DuPage Credit Union. Additional sponsors include North Central College and the Parents as Teachers program, which is part of the DuPage Regional Office of Education (ROE). The ROE has coordinated the regional spelling bee since the 2007–08 school year and is an official Scripps National Spelling Bee regional partner.
DuPage Credit Union donated $5,000 to help fund the event.
“We’re thrilled to help sponsor this event and wish all the contestants success in the spelling bee and in their future endeavors,” said Amy Brandt, Chief Experience Officer at DuPage Credit Union.
The regional spelling bee champion will represent DuPage County in the 2026 Scripps National Spelling Bee, May 24–29, 2026, at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, MD.
