HAEFCU Announces "Ca$h for the Classroom" Recipients
April 16, 2026
Huron Area Education FCU
The Huron Area Education Federal Credit Union was formed in 1952 by a group of educators looking to provide a better financial option for their co-workers. In doing so they created a financial institution that understands the needs of educators. That philosophy still holds true today. In fact, our Board of Directors and staff are all current or former school employees or have family members that are. We understand the needs of our members because we are just like you!
We are pleased to announce the winners of our Spring semester “Ca$h for the Classroom” drawing.
The Huron Area Education Federal Credit Union has announced
the winners of its spring semester “Ca$h for the Classroom” program, which aims
to support its member- educators. This semester, Michelle Vissia, a 5th-grade
Special Services teacher at Washington 4-5 Center, and Marisa Krekelberg, a
SPED teacher at McKinley Learning Center, were each awarded $150 to purchase
classroom supplies. With a Board made up of current and former school
employees, HAEFCU recognizes the unique challenges teachers face and remains
committed to supporting education. The program has provided valuable assistance
to educators over the years, helping enhance classroom experiences and student
learning.
The drawing is held twice annually, with the next
opportunity scheduled for this fall. Educators in Beadle, Hand, Kingsbury,
Sanborn, and Spink counties who are members of HAEFCU are encouraged to apply
by completing a short application.
