EECU Celebrates Madera County’s Outstanding Educators at Annual Awards

FRESNO, Calif. (Sept. 25, 2026) – Educational Employees Credit Union (EECU) joined the Madera County Superintendent of Schools to celebrate the county’s top educators at the 2026 Madera County Excellence in Education Awards ceremony on September 24.
The annual celebration
recognizes a school employee, administrator, and teacher whose dedication and
service make a meaningful difference for students, schools, and communities
throughout Madera County.
EECU has partnered with the
Madera County Superintendent of Schools to host the Excellence in Education
Awards since 2007. The longstanding partnership reflects the credit union’s
commitment to recognizing and supporting the educators and school employees who
serve local students and families.
Elizabeth J. Dooley, EECU
president and CEO, presented awards to this year’s honorees, who were selected
from nominations representing Madera County’s nine school districts.
“Every day,
educators and school employees make a difference in ways that extend far beyond
the classroom,” Dooley said. “It is a
privilege to recognize these exceptional individuals for the care, leadership,
and dedication they bring to their schools and communities.”
The 2026 Madera County
Excellence in Education Award honorees are:
- School Employee of the Year – Ronda Vaughn, Safety Officer Lead, Madera Unified School District
- Administrator of the Year – Catherine Williams, Principal, Bass Lake Joint Union Elementary School District
- Teacher of the Year – Sundae Ervin, Teacher, Chowchilla Elementary School District
The Madera County Excellence in
Education Awards are one of six annual county events sponsored by EECU to
recognize exemplary educators and school employees throughout Central
